A FAMILY-run company welcomed civic dignitaries
as it celebrated being recognised as an Investor in People.
North Staffs Caravans, of Silverdale, were accredited remarkably quickly
and Managing Director, Tim Keats, recommended other firms follow suit.
He said: We have always had a strong element of staff training and
development but what this has given us as detailed training plan for each
member of staff, improved internal communications and given everyone a
greater sense of involvement.
There is a full staff appraisal for every one from director level
downwards and a clearly defined business plan that the staff get to see
so they can understand their contribution.
North Staffs Caravans used Eurosource, a Newcastle-based training agency
who assessed the company and with their guidance it took just seven months
to implement the processes needed to qualify for Investor in People status.
Mr Keats added: It doesnt create a lot more paperwork or hassle.
Some people say firms only do it to get a nice logo but we really feel
that it has benefited us as a company. It is good to get these systems
in place to maximise the human element here and that has to be beneficial
for any organisation.
